Questions

Do I need an astronomy or coding background?

No. The first block starts from astronomy fundamentals and the second starts Python from first principles. What you need is eight weeks of genuine commitment.

What does it cost?

Nothing. The programme is fully funded. For the six finalists, accommodation, meals and local transport during the final event are covered too.

How much time does it take?

Eight weeks, two lessons per week, plus a weekly assessment. Lessons are self-paced with live mentorship sessions alongside them.

What equipment do I need?

A laptop or desktop computer and a reliable internet connection. Everything else runs in the browser.

Is it fully online?

The eight-week programme is fully online. The final pitch competition in October is a three-day in-person event at a university venue for the six finalists.

What can I win?

Seed funding is awarded to the top-performing startup ideas or technical solutions, and there is a separate award for the strongest assessment performance across the whole programme.

Who can apply?

Young adults aged 20–35 based in Namibia or Botswana — university students and graduates, unemployed graduates, early-career professionals, and people from underserved communities.
